Akin Kinikli retired as Deputy General Director from the Ministry of Economy. In his 34 years career, he worked in several different departments at the Ministry and at the Turkish Embassies in Budapest, Seoul, Stockholm and New York as an Economic and Commercial Counsellor. During his time in New York, (2000–2005) he established and also assumed the Presidency of the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is still active.
In addition to the permanent assignments, he has attended several seminars, trade fairs, meetings and lectures abroad, which helped him to establish a broad business network all around the world. He had published research papers and books on various crucial sectors of Turkish economy such as; Automotive, Food and Construction.
Following his retirement from Ministry of Economy he worked as an International Relations Coordinator to the Board of Directors and as a Deputy General Director at the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO) between the years 2005-2010. EBSO, being the second largest chamber of industry in Turkey, is the only regional institution in Turkey representing more than 4.500 companies operating in various industrial sectors.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Marmara University Business Administration Department in 1971 and his Master of Art’s Degree in Marketing from Gazi University in 1975.
